Sad Humor
Okay, I don't know why I thought this was so funny. I took this picture in the hallway of the hospital yesterday while I was volunteering. Here, we have a drinking fountain. As you can see, it is out of order. Above the drinking fountain is a little tag that says "In Memory of Beatrice Budd"
Perhaps she, like the drinking fountain, was out of order?
Hmmm.

Good call, Steve . . .
If you didn't learn to count this way, you really didn't learn how to count:
And Stevie, that Invasion movie looks pretty good!!
p.s. I'm going to see Harry Potter at midnight tomorrow!!!

More news from Sydney
Sorry, we don't have fun pictures added, but we don't have the computer anymore to download our pictures. Well, Emily and I are still having fun in Sydney. Our goal today is to not get into anymore trouble.
The other day we went on a ferry to the Tarango Zoo, which was Emily's favorite??!!??? Well, we decided to take a tour around the rest of the harbour and so we went over to the next bay and Emily had a good idea that we should get off and explore there. The water was really rough because it has been really windy and we were in the back taking some pictures and then I realized that everyone had gotten off and so we ran to the front and the guy was just putting the gangplank away and I don't know what I was thinking, but I proceeded to try to jump off the boat onto the steps. The guy yelled at me and then another guy came running over. The one guy kind of held me back and then the other guy proceeded to try to get the gangplank back on so we could get off. I told them that I was sorry and was very thankful when they allowed us to get off. Emily just laughed at me and was wondering what I was thinking??!!???
So now it is Emily's turn. We went on a tour of the Opera House and it was really super good. Even Emily said it was really good even though she wasn't excited about going at first. So we are walking around with our tour guide taking it all in. Then we were able to go in the Opera House and they were setting up for the next Opera on stage. We were sitting down listening to our tour guide and then all of a sudden Emily shoots a picture and the guide says, "No Pictures"!!!!! I don't know how we missed that instructions, but I guess when we had entered he had said that we weren't supposed to take any pictures because there was a production on the stage, which made sense.
We love Sydney. It is such a pretty city. We have been walking all over town and just have been having so much fun. I love Darling Harbour. It reminds me of Disneyland as far as how clean it is. We miss all of you and are looking forward to Kevin and Rachel's wedding when we will all be able to be together again. We send you our love from Australia and hope that we can stay out of trouble today!!!!!
Love Mom and Emily too!!!!!

Emily and Mom arrive in Sydney
We finally made it to Sydney and we have had a great time today. In fact, Emily is up in our room because she is worn out, while I came down to the internet cafe. We took the train into Sydney to our hotel and it was a crack up getting off the train. There were no elevators and so we had to drag our suitcases us 5 flights of stairs. Luckily we had several good samaritans that helped us!!! Then we were walking throught he streets of Sydney with our suitcases. (imagine a city like SF). It was quite entertaining. We are staying in a fun hotel that is also a backpacker one, but we actually have our own room but are sharing a bathroom. It is a kick. We went to the opera house today, which is so pretty. While we were there, a Japanese man came up to me and then wanted to take a picture with him. I found that quite amusing! We crossed their famouse bridge Emily was very disappointed that they had the gate around it (so people won't jump). It is a beautiful city!!! We also went to the botanical gardens. Whoops I have to go because my time is almost up. Love, MOm

My Birthday :-)
I had a great 22nd birthday. Here is how it went....
Steve presented me with a beautiful birthday cake at 12:02am, the exact minute I was born.
He had made it entirely by himself, and it was beautiful. Two layers of fluffy vanilla cake with chocolate frosting. It tasted just as good as it looked. And he did all that detail using just a ziploc bag with a little hole cut in the tip!!!
We wanted to take a lot of photos of it before we ate it, because of its prettiness. YAY CAKE!
We got up early (for us) on Saturday morning and went over to the movie theater to watch Ratatouille! It was so cute! And as always with Pixar, brilliant and beautiful. We got lunch at Jack in the Box (that's what I wanted) and then headed over to the mall for some shopping. That wore us out, so we came home and watched a couple of episodes of "Planet Earth" (so neat!) before heading out again for another adventure...
We drove up the 101 in search of fun & food.
We passed the Del Mar Fairgrounds...
...and ended up at Grandview Beach, the beach we went to for our wedding photos. Those are my birthday-toes in the water. The tide was so high that the water was almost touching the cliffs behind us.
Steve started frolicking in the water.
It was so warm that he decided to go for a spontaneous swim.
Only problem with that was that he ended up soaking wet, and with no change of clothes.
He tried to wring out his pantlegs, but that wasn't too successful.
I gave him a kiss, even though it was MY birthday. (So he should have given me one, right?)
We had dinner at this delicious bakery on the 101 called St. Tropez Bakery. We sat outside and munched on sandwiches. There was a lot of good people watching there, and also a live jazz band out in the plaza, so we had a really nice time. We were going to head down to ColdStone, but got sidetracked by how dirty the car was and headed to...
The CAR WASH!!! (We're in it. See the windows?)
It terrified Steve.
After the car wash we did make it over to ColdStone, where I cashed in my coupon for a free "Love It" size (medium) chocolate icecream with gummy bears & brownies mixed in. We shared it. Speaking of, you can sign up for a FREE COLDSTONE BIRTHDAY ICE CREAM at their website!!! YAY!
Also, enjoy this video of us in the car wash:
